#217 - mantra

Do you have a mantra?  The original meaning of mantra is something that you repeat to help you concentrate while you are meditating.  There are lots of people, however, who use a mantra to help them concentrate in other ways.  Do you have one?  Do you need one? Would you like one? Can you share yours or is it secret and private?  How do you feel about mantra?

Oh how I wanted to come up with something fresh for my "mantra" response, but if I'm to be honest, it's always the same thing!

Great prompt - thanks!

I was speaking to my father the other day about "mantras." You have a nack for choosing things that I have been thinking and talking about. I will be thinking long about this one. What mantra will have the most impact?

Wow...thank you for this prompt. I didn't think I'd be able to write anything, but it came to me.

Please don't take offense, none intended, but for us antipodeans here in Oz we don't get the prompt up on our screens until late sunday night.Makes it difficult to do then on the very last coat tail hours of the weekend. A touch earlier would be appreciated. I know you girls are busy but ....just a request.

Well Linda, I think of it as "Monday Scribblings"... I posted a very short Aussie mantra story.

This is an antiphone. With the first two lines in each stanza being read by one voice and the refrain read by another.

I think it's one of my better ones, but you can judge for yourself.

Sorry to be so late on this one. After a few false starts, I found a mantra that really spoke to me: the rosary.

My mantra involves something I've had to learn how to do ever since I decided to go back to school

Ok, so I know it's Wednesday, but at least I got it done, right?

Anyway, I always read and heard about mantras but never had one until I was given one this last week from a most unexpected teacher.

So this prompt couldn't have come at a better time.
Thanks!

I have been thinking about this all week and the same thing kept coming to mind so I decided to write it - even though it is now Thursday.

I had too many ideas to properly write it out, but that's a good thing I hope.
